These terms govern your use of Brunost FPL, including the website, installed web app, native iPhone app, accounts, optimizer, and paid plans. By using Brunost, you agree to these terms. If you buy a paid plan, the subscription information and refund terms below also apply.
Brunost is an independent fantasy-football planning tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or guaranteed by the Premier League, Fantasy Premier League, Eliteserien, or their game operators.
Optimizer results
Brunost turns datasets and your settings into estimates and planning suggestions. Projections may be incomplete or wrong, real-world events change, and no fantasy result is guaranteed. You remain responsible for any decision you make using an output.
Accounts and acceptable use
Use Brunost only for lawful, personal purposes. Keep access to your email account secure and do not share sign-in codes. Do not bypass plan limits, probe or disrupt the service, send abusive automated traffic, or upload material you are not allowed to use. Brunost may restrict access where reasonably necessary to stop abuse, protect users, or comply with law.
You must be at least 18 years old to buy a paid plan, or a parent or legal guardian must make the purchase for you.
Your inputs and third-party services
You keep any rights you have in information you submit. You allow Brunost to process that information only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service. Team imports and connected services may also be subject to the relevant provider's terms.
Access to The Transfer Algorithm dataset is separate from Brunost's Free, Plus, and Pro plans. When offered, it requires a connected Patreon account with an active paid Transfer Algorithm membership. Access may end if that membership ends or Brunost no longer has permission to provide the dataset.
Changes and availability
Fantasy rules, datasets, plan features, and infrastructure change over time, so Brunost may be updated. Brunost aims to keep the service available and to fix material faults within a reasonable time, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be promised. Material changes to a paid plan or its price will be communicated before they apply to a future renewal, so you can cancel first.
Responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Brunost is not responsible for lost fantasy points, rankings, prizes, or other indirect losses caused by relying on an estimate. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Law and disputes
Norwegian law governs these terms, without limiting mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live. Please contact Brunost first so a problem can be investigated. Eligible consumers may also ask the consumer authority in their country for help; Norwegian consumers can contact Forbrukertilsynet.
Subscriptions and cancellation
Plans, credits, renewal, and cancellation
Plans and billing
Free is not a paid subscription. Plus and Pro are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled. The account page describes the included features and base price; Stripe Checkout shows the final price, currency, billing interval, and tax before you confirm payment.
Payments use Stripe Managed Payments. Link, a Stripe service, acts as merchant of record for the payment transaction and handles payment details, tax, receipts, and transaction support. Brunost does not receive or store your full card number.
How optimization credits work
Free30 credits per UTC calendar month
Plus100 credits per paid billing period
Pro500 credits per paid billing period
A Fast Wildcard uses 1 credit, a Fast Transfer plan uses 2, and a Fast Chip strategy uses 4. Optimal mode uses five times the operation cost. Asking for multiple results multiplies the cost by the number of results.
Credits are a service allowance, not money. They cannot be transferred, exchanged, or carried into a new period. A job is charged only when it succeeds; a failed or cancelled job releases the reserved credits. Paid credits reset only after payment for the next billing period is confirmed.
Plan changes and failed payments
You can change plans through Manage billing. Stripe shows any timing, credit, or price adjustment before you confirm. A paid feature or larger allowance becomes available only after Brunost receives reliable payment confirmation. If a payment fails, paid access may be limited until the payment is resolved.
Cancellation and account deletion
You can cancel through Manage billing in your Brunost account. Cancellation stops the next renewal; unless the checkout or billing portal says otherwise, paid access continues until the end of the current paid period.
Deleting your Brunost account is different. It immediately cancels an active subscription, removes paid access, and starts permanent account deletion. Account deletion does not automatically refund the current billing period. Read the refund and withdrawal terms before deleting a paid account.
Cancellation, withdrawal, and refunds
When money can be returned
Stopping a renewal, withdrawing from a new contract, and asking for a remedy because the service is faulty are different rights. This section explains each one. Mandatory rights under the law that applies to you always take priority.
Ordinary cancellation
You can cancel at any time to stop the next renewal. Cancellation does not normally refund time already used or the remaining part of a billing period, and access normally continues to the period end.
14-day right of withdrawal
If consumer law gives you a right of withdrawal for an online purchase, you may withdraw within 14 days of entering the subscription agreement without giving a reason. Send a clear statement before the deadline to hello@brunostfpl.com. Include the plan, purchase date, and account email so the subscription can be identified.
Paid access starts immediately after purchase. If you expressly asked for the service to start during the withdrawal period and then withdraw, a proportionate amount for service already supplied may be deducted only where the applicable legal requirements are met.
Model withdrawal notice

Duplicate charges, faults, and downtime
If you were charged twice, charged after a valid cancellation, or a paid feature was materially unavailable, contact Brunost. Brunost will first try to correct the problem within a reasonable time. Where consumer law entitles you to a price reduction, termination, or refund, that remedy will be provided.
How refunds are handled
Do not send card details or sign-in codes. Provide your account email, payment date, plan, and a short description of the issue. Approved refunds are returned through Stripe or Link to the original payment method, without an added refund fee, and within the time required by applicable law. Link can also provide transaction support from the receipt or Link account.
Privacy notice
How Brunost handles personal data
Trond Vatten, the operator of Brunost FPL, is the data controller. The controller's contact details are listed under Contact. This notice covers the website, installed web app, native iPhone app, account, optimizer, billing connection, optional Patreon connection, and contact form.
Data Brunost processes
Account and sign-in: email address, internal user ID, and authentication/session information.
Optimizer use: team or entry ID, squad, player rules, optimizer settings, job status, and results.
Plan and usage: tier, credit allowance and use, reservations, subscription status, and Stripe customer, subscription, price, invoice, and event references. Full card details stay with Stripe.
Optional Patreon connection: Patreon user, campaign, membership and tier identifiers, membership status, verification time, and encrypted OAuth credentials. Brunost does not receive your Patreon password.
Support and technical records: messages you send, request time, IP address, browser information, error type, job state, and security or rate-limit events.
Information comes from you, your browser or iPhone app, Stripe or Link, Patreon when you connect it, and the fantasy-game API when you ask Brunost to import a team.
Purposes and legal bases
Contract: create and secure your account, run optimizations, enforce the plan you chose, manage subscriptions, provide support, and verify optional Transfer Algorithm access you request.
Legitimate interests: prevent abuse and fraud, keep the service reliable, diagnose faults, protect accounts, and establish or defend legal claims. Brunost limits this processing to what is proportionate and expected for running the service.
Legal obligations: keep or disclose records where consumer, accounting, tax, payment, or other law requires it.
Brunost does not use personal data for advertising, sell it, or make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Required and optional data
An email address and sign-in session are required for an account. Team details and optimizer settings are required only when you ask Brunost to run or import a team. Payment references are required only for a paid plan. Connecting Patreon is optional. If required information is not provided, Brunost cannot provide the related account, optimizer, import, payment, or membership-verification feature.
Retention
Optimizer job records and results normally expire after 24 hours.
Account, plan, usage, and Brunost billing-reference records remain while the account exists and are removed through account deletion, except where a record must be kept for law or a live dispute.
Patreon connection data remains until you disconnect Patreon, delete the account, or the connection can no longer be used.
Contact-form messages and support correspondence are kept only while needed to answer, follow up, prevent abuse, or handle a related legal claim.
The current Render workspace retains application runtime logs for up to 7 days. If error monitoring is enabled, error events follow the configured monitoring retention period.
After account deletion, Brunost keeps only the former internal user ID and deletion timestamps for as long as needed to prevent delayed billing events from recreating the deleted account. This marker does not contain your email address.
Stripe, Link, Patreon, Supabase, and other providers may keep their own records where their terms or legal duties require it.

Providers process data for Brunost or as independent controllers for their own services. Some may process data outside Norway or the EEA. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Browser storage and cookies
Brunost uses local browser storage for your sign-in session, active-job recovery, selected game and dataset, optimizer preferences, and install reminders. Completed optimizer runs are kept in this browser as saved plans, with the latest 30 stored separately for each account. They include the squad, planning settings, and original projections and are not synced to other devices. You can remove and restore plans from Saved. Deleting your account also removes its saved plans from the browser where you delete it; clearing site data removes all copies from that browser. The installed web app also caches static files so its shell can open during a temporary connection loss; optimizer API responses are not cached. A short-lived, secure cookie is used for up to 10 minutes while connecting Patreon and is deleted on return. Brunost does not use advertising or behavioral-analytics cookies.
The native iPhone app stores sign-in tokens in iOS Keychain. Drafts, preferences, active-job recovery and up to 30 completed plans are stored on that device. Saved plans are associated with the signed-in account and do not sync to the website or other phones. Signing out removes the local session and drafts but retains that account's saved plans for its next sign-in. Deleting your account in the app also removes its saved plans from that iPhone; copies on another device are not remotely erased. You can remove individual saved plans in Saved. The app does not include advertising or behavioral-analytics software and does not request access to contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. You can disconnect Patreon or delete your Brunost account from the account page. You can also email hello@brunostfpl.com. Brunost may need to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by law.
You may complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work. In Norway, this is Datatilsynet.
